Humbleness? Humility?

What I’m trying to tell you about is the Humble eBook Bundle.  I know I’m a little late to the party in terms of talking about it here–there are only five days left to get in on the action–but I thought it was still worth mentioning.

So why should you click on the link above?  More importantly, why should you spend your money at the link above?  Both excellent questions.  First, because it’s a really sweet deal: you can pay what you want for six great eBooks and zero DRM.  If you pay more than average ($13.71 at the time of this writing), the deal becomes even better: you get 13 books.  Thirteen!  That includes John Scalzi’s Old Man’s War, a Gaiman/McKean graphic novel and collections from XKCD, SMBC, and Penny Arcade.

And the money goes to charity.  More specifically, you choose how to split your money at the time of purchase between paying the authors, helping with site maintenance costs, and helping some great organizations.  That’s right, you can donate to the EFF, SFWA, and Child’s Play, feel good about yourself, and get more reading material than you know what to do with.

What are you waiting for?  Go!  Be humble!
